Bringing baby home!

After 4 sleepless nights in the hospital it was finally time to take baby home!
though hubby and I were nervous and fearful we were also very excited and ready to get out of the hospital.
Bringing baby home can be a mix of feelings,  from fear to overwhelming excitement,  some will tell you all the benefits of having family members and friends huddled up in your home, creeping with excitement and anticipation for the new baby, while others might tell you to keep baby to yourself till you have had a chance to bond, from my personal experience I had my parents and grand parents waiting at home for me and my new baby, I am not sure I could have done it without them.
By the time I got home from the hospital I hadn't slept since the baby was born, first breastfeeding wasn't going so hot, and I chose to breastfeed so I was determined to make it work, so baby and I sat up for hours trying to get the hang of it, then I had nurses and doctors in and out of the room pretty much every half hour for one reason or another, hospital personnel bringing me constant paperwork and surveys to fill out, long story short I was ready to be home.
Our first day home with the baby consisted of family members passing her back and forth while my husband and I got some much needed sleep, with him sleeping through the entire day and me getting up to feed her and hand her back over to my family, now this was so needed and helpful but I promise by the end of the day you will start to feel like everyone gets to hold the new baby but you, just keep in mind as new mommy you make the rules, when its time for family to go its just time for them to go! don't ever feel bad for wanting to spend extra time with the little one, I mean come on! you carried it for 10 months and pushed it out if you want to have baby all to yourself then you should be entitled to it.
